General Comments

This is my third E2E, and the second one for 2018.

I just have to look at photos on my phone from previous E2Es, and start enthusing to people about the Track, and I get the urge to be back out there.

Food/Supplies Comments

This E2E started off as a N-S, but my resupply didn’t make it to North Bannister.  So I travelled down the highway to Albany, and flipped my walk to S-N.

Made my own jerky this time in Perth prior to the walk.  It was good to tuck in to that.

Favourite Section

Always a hard question, this.  So much to enjoy.

Waalegh to Mt Dale.  The stretch from DRV to Pemberton.  Frankland River to Peaceful Bay.

Highlights

The solitude, and yet, paradoxically, meeting other walkers.  Also, meeting walkers again from previous times on the Track.

And the wildflowers were spectacular.

Oh, and the camp fires at night, where permissible.  I truly had some beautiful coals to gaze into.

Personal Reactions

I just feel fortunate and grateful for having the opportunity to walk the track E2E.

Grateful for the body holding up as well as it did to the rigours of the Track.

Wildlife

I saw 25 snakes on this E2E (not counting all those reptilian tails disappearing into the bush at the side of the track - vast majority of which are probably snakes.  I only counted a snake if I saw the whole snake.)

Your Best Equipment

My EXPED sleeping mat.  I went extra wide, extra long (595 grams).

Your Worst Equipment

All pretty OK, really.  Nothing particularly high tech, or ultralight, or super expensive.  Mostly just middle-of-the-range stuff.

Advice for Others

Open your ears to the bush, and your heart to the experience, and walk your own walk.
