General Comments
This was my first go at hiking, and it’s safe to say I ‘caught the bug’! I threw myself in the deep-end with no training, so the first two weeks were tough, but every day got better and better until by the end I didn’t want to get off the track! What an incredible experience, I’m so proud of myself, and raising $2000+ for the ICEA Foundation and the BTF was very fulfilling too.
Food/Supplies Comments
My lack of experience was a burden at the start, carrying eight tins of baked beans was a bad decision! I quickly learned (the hard way) how to travel lighter and I was never short of anything along the track, however my pack was quite heavy all the way.
Favourite Section
Every section was special, however the coastal section takes the cake for me. The coastline is so spectacular, and ending the day with a swim in the ocean was beautiful and encouraging.
Highlights
Among the amazing trees, beautiful wildlife, and stunning hills, cliffs and beaches; the people I met along the way were the highlight of my trip.
Wildlife
I kept a tally; 23 snakes!
