General Comments
A wonderfully diverse track that is beautifully maintained by a band of fabulous volunteers, A huge thank you to all involved. When I tell people that is free - they are amazed.
Food/Supplies Comments
Supermarkets are the same anymore - instead of doing my weekly shopping, I am always scanning the shelves for hiker-friendly food.
Favourite Section
Donnelly River to Pemberton . Favourite campsite is Chadorra.
Highlights
Meeting some wonderful friends and then walking many sections with them. Having a huge sense of achievement with everyday hiked. I liked the solitude, the beauty of the Track and knowing my personal fitness has improved.
Personal Reactions
The Bibbulmun isn’t difficult overall but some parts will be testing. It does test endurance though. I have gained enormous confidence on this track and this has provided the foundation to tackle many other hikes locally and overseas.
Wildlife
Fabulous! My most interesting encounter was with a full grown wild pig. We didn’t have the pig procedure manual with us so had to work it out as we navigated past it.
Your Best Equipment
Jetboil Minimo, Luci solar light, Pacer poles, MSR Hubba Hubba (my indulgence).
Your Worst Equipment
Steripen , a leaking tent that was new.
Advice for Others
Look after your feet well, don’t hike in summer, and carry lots of water. Enjoy every step.
