General Comments
A marvelous long distance hiking experience. Highlighted by changes in vegetation and topography. A wonderful advertisement for WA. Congratulations and thanks to all volunteers and maintenance personnel.
Food/Supplies Comments
Privately dehydrated food should be permitted entry into WA. Easier (less weight) and cheaper than commercial products for interstate/overseas hikers. Town supplies otherwise in the main adequate.
Favourite Section
Pemberton to Northcliffe and coastal scenery from Mandalay onwards.
Highlights
The profusion of wildflowers, awe inspiring. Jarrah, Karri and Tingle trees. The peace and serenity of the bush contrasting with the joy of human company, being my fellow hikers and interesting hikers met in camp along the way.
Personal Reactions
A transformational experience not to be missed - love to Bill and Byron, our ‘on Track’ angels.
Wildlife
Birds in profusion a special joy(birdsong at Warren in Particular). Various mammals sighted and snakes in abundance in southern sections.
Your Best Equipment
Mammut boots, camelback and walking plies plus trusty ancient ‘Glissade’ Macpac.
Your Worst Equipment
A broad brimmed hat I didn’t utilise!
