Loved it. Huge thanks to everyone involved in creating and maintaining this Track.
I carried 9 days for Kalamunda to Dwellingup, posted food boxes to Dwelly, Balingup and a few minor towns, and then bought the rest on arrival in trail towns.
Kalamunda to Dwellingup for its granite domed peaks and incredible wildflowers.
Then from Walpole south to Albany.
All the mountains! (Mt Dale, Cuthbert, Vincent, Cooke, Chance, etc). Wildflowers like I’d never seen before (almost overwhelming at times!).
Plenty of black cockatoos which was a treat (black, white and yellow tail). Lots of snakes in the southern sections.
Your Best Equipment
Aarn Featherlight Freedom pack as usual. Allows me to carry 10 days of food with ease. Best load carry system ever.

Advice for Others
I hiked Sep/Oct and while there were a couple of very cold weeks in the forests (9c mid afternoon!) I was thankful not to be walking in the heat which absolutely crippled me on the Cape to Cape track when I did it in early Nov. When things heat up over there they really heat up. Wouldn’t want to be hiking the trail in summer months.
