General Comments

Everyone should find time to experience the Bib Track even if it is just for a day or two. The work of DWaP,  volunteers and the Foundation makes walking a truly enjoyable adventure.

Food/Supplies Comments

I ate commercial dehydrated food which went down well although one variety I cannot now stomach. I sent three food parcels to track towns and enjoyed pub meals in the towns. Resupplying in towns was no problem. Peaceful Bay has the best fish and chips.

Favourite Section

My favourite section was between Perth and Albany.

Highlights

Just walking in the bush is a highlight but if I was pressed to describe my highlights it would be the Pingerup Plains with the amazing wildflowers, the beauty and ruggedness of the coast and getting hammered by wind and rain walking along Mazzoletti Beach.

Personal Reactions

While physically I had no big issues - I lost 9kgs and have scaly, cracked and numb heels now - the mental side was a challenge at times. I came across very few walkers and spent 19 nights in total alone in shelters. But the solitude allowed for some very intelligent conversations and some surprising responses.

Wildlife

I saw numerous roos,  two emus(besides the ones at DRV) and around a dozen snakes. The 28 parrots and cockatoos were a joy to observe.

Your Best Equipment

My best equipment were my Keen boots and MSR 1 Litre Windburner.

Your Worst Equipment

My worst equipment were my sock protectors and sunglasses. Never wore them.

Advice for Others

My advice for fellow walkers is to be well planned, prepare thoroughly and walk your own walk.
