General Comments

I had been looking forward to walking the End to End for many months.  I enjoyed the solitude and I also enjoyed the company when I met up with people. I could have very easily turned around at Albany and started hiking north for Kalamunda.  Seven weeks sounds a lot but the I was amazed how fast the time passed.  Looking forward to my next adventure on the Bibbulmun Track.

Food/Supplies Comments

I dehydrated my own meals. Mailed food to towns.  Still enjoyed the fresh food too. Was a bit disappointed when I arrived in Denmark on a public holiday and could not be gas as the shops were closed.

Favourite Section

I don’t have a favourite section. I love all the different aspects of the Bibbulmun Track.

Highlights

I met wonderful, friendly people along my journey. I enjoyed listening to their stories .  Catching a snapper using dehydrated pear…. I am still smiling as I just could not believe my luck.  Tasted good. I loved my friends coming out to meet me and spending time with me…big hugs to you all. Felt very spoilt.

Personal Reactions

I estimated completion in 52 days.  I completed the Bibbulmun Track in 49.  The weather was very wet and cold. I took each day as it came. No dramas. Of course this was all made possible by our volunteers who look after the Track and shelters and DPaW. Thank you for all the effort. It is not unnoticed.

Wildlife

Kangaroos (males voicing their objection by grunting and hissing as I passed by). A tiger snake had a go at me for interrupting his sunbathing. A male emu, hysterical at coming between him and his chicks. I saw the red tailed black cockatoos as well as the white tailed and a variety of parrots.

Your Best Equipment

All of my equipment worked well.

Your Worst Equipment

I think it maybe time for a new sleeping bag.  Got a tad cold….

Advice for Others

This Track is a great hike. Don’t think about doing it, just do it as time passes by so fast.  Prepare well and enjoy.
