General Comments
DPaW staff are wonderfully helpful but they cannot know every little detail about the Track.
Food/Supplies Comments
I used a lot of Back Country meals and they were available at most track towns.
Favourite Section
The bit between Kalamunda and Albany.
Highlights
Walking along Mazzoletti Beach and talking to people about the Bibbulmun Track. One person even insisted on me having his sunglasses when I mentioned that I had lost mine earlier in the day.
Personal Reactions
A great sense of personal achievement.
Wildlife
Didn’t see any snakes. Saw lots of roos and birds. I upset an emu when I got too close to his chicks. There is a very friendly “Bush Rat” at Torbay campsite.
Your Best Equipment
My “Keen - Targhee II” boots and “Mountain Designs” socks combination. I only got 3 blisters for the trip.
Your Worst Equipment
Plastic spoons. I broke 3.
Advice for Others
Get weather forecasts, make decisions based on that information and consider going backwards to a town if appropriate.
