General Comments

Have spent the last 9 years coming over from Sydney to do this magnificent Track. Five trips doing about 2 weeks on the Track at a time. Enjoyed walking in May the most as temps were cooler - I found September and October too warm. Loved starting early and being rewarded with relaxing afternoons at the campsites.

Food/Supplies Comments

Our best food ingredient was fresh garlic and cheese wrapped in a Chux - it would keep for 10 days! Happy with all towns for supplies but gas was sometimes tricky.

Favourite Section

Pingerup Plains to Walpole.

Highlights

Reading the shelter logbooks each evening, travelling through ever changing scenery, coming across a Waugal when you begin to doubt your direction, sharing information and ideas with fellow track walkers.

Personal Reactions

It has been a privilege to walk the Track - its not the most spectacular Track but it is a very special journey. Thanks to the people passionate about the Track.

Wildlife

Dolphins, kangaroos, snakes and something that chewed through my pack a Beavis campsite.

Your Best Equipment

Gaiters - for sand, sticks and snakes!

Your Worst Equipment

None that comes to mind.

Advice for Others

As John Muir said: ‘Of all the paths you take in life, make sure of few of the are dirt’.
