General Comments

What an awesome experience to undertake on my own. A journey into the soul, self reliance and to see what stuff I am made of.

Food/Supplies Comments

Received some great advice from the Bibbulmun Track Foundation about how to manage food and where and how to post supplies

Favourite Section

Pingerup Plains blew me away. Mt Chance to Albany due to all the wild flowers and views that went on forever.

Highlights

Walking through the Pingerup Plains, watching the sun set and rise from Mt Chance. Experiencing all the wild flowers in all their glory and seeing the animal behaviour from frequent and almost daily sightings.

Wildlife

I had a few up close and personal encounters with emus from basically not seeing each other until last second scaring the wits out each other. Seeing the shingleback lizards hanging out in pairs on the track on the southern section. Getting to see the animal tracks and behaviour signs that they leave behind.

Your Best Equipment

My spot tracker to let family and friends where I was and that I was safe and having peace of mind knowing that help was just a push of a button away if I needed it. My jetboil was a great piece of kit and all the carabiners that brought I had no had idea what I was going to do with them which all had an important roll to play in the end.

Your Worst Equipment

My new solar panel battery bank charger which broke in Northcliffe so I had to spend an extra in night and sort out an alternative to charge my camera and Garmin tracker. Thank you the the people from Northcliffe who were very helpful in coming to my rescue.
My under powered sleeping bag but that was down to poor user knowledge which that was rectified with an SOS call to a friend to buy and all signing all dancing one and post it to Collie for me to collect along the way.

Advice for Others

Have a comfortable sleeping system and look after your feet because if your feet are not happy neither will you be. “Pack it light and pack it tight!” because your the pack mule!
