General Comments
Great trip - challenging but satisfying. Many logistics to deal with each day! But fun. Glad that campsites were standardised and not cosy ‘huts’ so I knew what to expect but didn’t get too soft.
Food/Supplies Comments
Collie/Pemberton/Walpole excellent for supplies and reasonably priced. Dwellingup & Balingup not so good.
Favourite Section
White Horse Hills - Mt Wells (nth) , Rame Head - Boat Harbour (sth).
Highlights
Finding White Horse campsite in dark! Crossing Wilson Inlet bar 3 hours before it was cut. Coastal beaches/dunes.
Personal Reactions
Overall challenging & underestimated how hard even small hills are - day in day out.
Wildlife
Emus are dopey. Saw echidna, wombat and a few snakes on Track.
Your Best Equipment
Small transistor radio - compact efficient cooker - JANDALS.
Your Worst Equipment
Badly fitting gaiters. Cheap headlight that broke on day 3.
Advice for Others
Water steriliser/filter. Clean and dry feet daily. Study map in advance. Just follow the markers.
