General Comments
Wonderful to be immersed in nature, humbling to walk amongst the Karri and Tingle trees. Generally the track was in good order as were the shelters. It seems that most using the track have a real appreciation for it and those who maintain it.
Food/Supplies Comments
Took a combination of bought dehydrated foods and meals we dehydrated ourselves. This meant we had reasonable variety.
Favourite Section
Woolbales to Mandalay Beach, loved the changing environment as we moved towards the coast.
Highlights
Meeting others on the track, great to connect with so many people who I would ;not have otherwise met. Walking thru the wildflowers in the forests and sand dunes.
Personal Reactions
Amazed and pleased my body was able to manage the journey. Enjoyed the increasing sense of getting fit.
Wildlife
Saw some kangaroos, snakes, 1 quokka, bush rat, many birds including a friendly emu at Yourdamung, lizards.
Your Best Equipment
Sleeping bag and walking poles.
Your Worst Equipment
Self ‘deflating’ sleeping mat.
Advice for Others
Pack light, take your time, enjoy the journey. Walking in the rain is not that unpleasant and feet can survive wet boots.
