General Comments

The track and the shelters are a credit to the volunteers and DEC, both are very well maintained.

Food/Supplies Comments

It is well worth purchasing a dehydrator; I enjoyed eating a variety of home cooked meals, Portuguese Chicken, Beef Ragout with Red Wine and Coconut Rice were some of my favourites. My family dropped my food parcels each weekend.

Favourite Section

The entire track was an enjoyable experience and every day had its highlights.

Highlights

The hospitality shown to Dad and I by the people of each town, especially Ian at the Mill House Cafe in Dwellingup. Seeing my children running to meet me on the track near Pemberton, who I hadn’t seen for several weeks. Having my son join me and his Grandad to walk the last 15 kms to Albany. Meeting up with Richard and Janet from Geelong.

Personal Reactions

It was a great opportunity to do an End to End with my Dad. I was surprised to meet more walkers from Eastern Australia and overseas than from Western Australia.

Wildlife

Meeting the resident Quenda at Monadnocks. Saw a large variety of mammals, birds and reptiles. I didn’t expect to see as many feral cats and pigs as I did.

Your Best Equipment

Walking poles, Osprey Pack, Dehydrator and Spot GPS Tracker. Family and friends enjoyed watching our progress with the Spot Tracker.

Your Worst Equipment

Silk sleeping bag liner, the stitching split on the first night.

Advice for Others

JUST DO IT!!!!! Enjoy the track, it is an amazing journey.
