General Comments
I was fortunate to accompany an accomplished walker on my End to End. Loads of evidence of a very effective Track culture between DEC/BTF/Track Users. It has reinforced my commitment to protect and defend the forest estate and the Bibbulmun Track.
Food/Supplies Comments
Great opportunity to prepare and take light but sustaining food supply with supplemental treats in towns along the way.
Favourite Section
Lake Maringup to Long Point.
Highlights
Starting each morning early and arriving at shelters early to read, relax with hot soup and not a care in the world.
Personal Reactions
A revelation - its been like moving through a palette of landscapes, ecosystems, geology and human habitation - it gave me an insight into the “sense of peace"of Aboriginal Australians”
Wildlife
Much of our wildlife appears at night. Saw lots of evidence of their presence but as I was tucked into my sleeping bag at 6.30pm as they were emerging did not see too many.
Your Best Equipment
New light Thermorest mattress.
Your Worst Equipment
Boots - I relied on old tired boots, rather than investing in a good new pair well before the walk.
Advice for Others
Invest in time, talking to experienced walkers about food, equipment, boots, clothing, etc.
