General Comments

A wonderful experience to walk for 8 weeks on such a magnificent, world class Track, which was generally well maintained.  Also good to live simply and not have to watch the clock etc.

Food/Supplies Comments

I had prepared day packs of food for each walking day before we started our walk and quantities worked well.

Favourite Section

Between Balingup and Blackwood.

Highlights

Even though we experienced gale force winds on the South Coast sections - the scenery was stunning.  Also it was great walking with friends and family who joined us from time to time.

Personal Reactions

It was a real sense of achievement being able to complete the end to end, a great personal goal.

Wildlife

Kangaroos, emus, echidnas, wild cats, saw evidence of wild pigs, but didn’t see a great variety of birds life.

Your Best Equipment

My Polartec jacket & pants for evenings. Quick drying day wear and my pack.

Your Worst Equipment

My boots - my right boot caused me grief on steep climbing - we didn’t have hills to train on in Geraldton.

Advice for Others

Organise your food before you start the walk, so days off can be more relaxed.  Don’t forget lip balm & sunscreen.  If using camelbak or similar, make sure there is a device to prevent water from leaking out , should pressure be applied to hose, eg.  pack placed accidentally on the hose.
