General Comments
Wow, what a fantastic experience! I feel very proud of this achievement and so privileged to experience the natural wonders of the South West. The Foundation and volunteers do an amazing job. Special thanks to Gwen - a font of knowledge!
Food/Supplies Comments
Don’t undercater. Keep your energy up with quality food and carry plenty of water.
Favourite Section
Loved section 53 (William Bay - Denmark) but 58 (Albany) was a beautiful experience.
Highlights
Falling in love with the forest - never thought I’d become a tree-hugger. The wonderful feeling of finishing each day’s walk. Seeing so many snakes in their own backyard. Valley of the Giants.
Personal Reactions
So pleased we did it but so sad when it’s over. The Bib is a state icon and I sing its praises at every opportunity.
Wildlife
Loved the snakes, the birds and the amazing wild flowers.
Your Best Equipment
Boots - critical. Walking pole - so helpful.
Your Worst Equipment
Inferior blister treatment in the early days.
Advice for Others
Walking the Bib is a critical mix of preparation and participation. “Stop to smell the roses” - its not a race.
