General Comments
Thank you very much for everything. I really mean it. I hope you have as much fun in taking care of the track as all the hikers do when they walk it.
Food/Supplies Comments
We bought all our food in the track towns except for the Darling Range where we organized a food drop with our Trail Angel Robin from Perth. Amazing woman. We found her in the facebook group and she helped us a lot on this stage by meeting us at Sullivan Rock.
Favourite Section
Our favourite section is Peaceful Bay to Woolbales. It is really diverse and lovely to walk. There is the giant tingles, the ocean, beaches, dunes, Walpole and the plains.
Highlights
Hot chocolate and marshmellows at the firepit at a lonely shelter at the end of day. Burgers in various shapes and sizes and tje buffet breakfast. Climbing the Gloucester Tree. Meeting Bob. Free scones at the camel farm for E2E. Canoeing & taking a dip at Mandalay Beach. Fish and Chips at Peaceful Bay.
Personal Reactions
Lovely trail on which we celebrated a birthday. Mundaring Pub was the perfect locaction for this occasion.
Wildlife
We’ve seen heaps of kangaroos, wallabies and 15 emus. We still carry two feathers we found of the red-tailed and the carnaby cockatoo and our backpacks still have bites from mice at Boatharbour. We are really happy to have seen and photograhed kookaburras and all those other creatures around. A wild pig scared us and we scared it to death and snakes of course and so on ...
Your Best Equipment
We do love our Trangia - the gas version - we have big enough pots and cooked a lot of yummy things.
Your Worst Equipment
As this was our long-distance walk and it is part of a much longer journey, we carried a few things not essential for the track but the trip. Our clothesline though was simply annoying - we have a new one by now.
Advice for Others
Eat as much as you csn in the towns and enjoy the Karry Valley Breakfast Buffet on weekends. Talk to other hikers about their experiences and have a fire whenever possible.
