General Comments
After completing the sectional end to end I now felt ready to have a go at doing it all in one go. The experience was both more fulfilling and more difficult than I thought it would be.
Food/Supplies Comments
I dehydrated most of my meals, and re-supplied at Walpole, Pemberton, Balingup and Dwellingup.
Favourite Section
After walking the whole trail again, I still think Denmark to Walpole is my favourite section, but I really enjoyed the variety of all the parts of this amazing track. I never seem to tire of walking the same sections, even though I have done some of them multiple times.
Highlights
My main highlight would be all the awesome people I met along the way. Also, meeting up with my daughter at the Frankland River and Chadoora huts. Finally, I thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience of the stripped back and simplified lifestyle for 30 days.
Personal Reactions
There’s nothing quite so refreshing as being out in God’s creation, unplugged from the stresses of society and with everything you need for your next day of life, all contained in your backpack.
Wildlife
Apparently I got a bit close to the snake when I tried to video it and it didn’t like it. I will be keeping my distance in future.
Your Best Equipment
My new Saucony Peregrine trail shoes were the best: light, comfortable, no blisters and they made it the full 1,000kms. My Osprey Exos backpack and Black Diamond Distance trekking poles are two tried and tested pieces of equipment that I continue to rave about!
