The southern half of the Track starts at the old timber-milling town of Donnelly River Village, formerly officially known as Wheatley, nestled in the valley of the river from which it was named. Donnelly River Village is located on Bibbulmun Track map 5 - Pemberton.

Getting there
Donnelly River Holiday Village is located 290km south of Perth, a drive of approximately three hours. Follow the instructions to reach Balingup, and then continue along the South Western Highway to Bridgetown. As you leave Bridgetown, turn right along the Brockman Highway and then left after approximately 3kms to Donnelly River Village. The distance from Balingup is approximately 50kms, a drive of some 55 minutes.
From Pemberton, take the Vasse Highway north to Manjimup and then on to Bridgetown. Before Bridgetown, turn left on the Brockman Highway and left again in about 3kms to Donnelly River Village. This is approximately 53 kms and will take about one hour.
There is no public transport to Donnelly River Village. TransWA runs coach transport from Perth to Bridgetown (26km north-east of Donnelly River Village) or Manjimup (25km south-east of Donnelly River Village). Both towns have taxi services for transfers to Donnelly River Village. The taxi service in Manjimup can be used for transfers to the Track between Donnelly River Village and Pemberton, as can Pemberton Discovery Tours (see table below for more details). The Village plans to introduce a transfer service in 2011. Enquiries on (08) 9772 1244.
Accommodation & service providers
Donnelly River Holiday Village has self-contained cottage, bunk-style accommodation and a Track shelter. Services include general store, public telephone, BBQs, swimming dam and laundry services. Walkers can make use of the basic shelter, originally the lunch shelter for the school. Water is available, as are public toilets. There are bunks in the dormitory which also has kitchen and shower facilities at a small fee. B&B available at the nearby ‘Loco Shed’. Camping is not permitted.

Along the Track…
South of Donnelly River Village, the Track follows the Donnelly River for almost 60 kilometres, taking walkers through some of the most spectacular karri/jarrah/marri forests of the south-west, while the river itself proves a constant source of delight. One Tree Bridge on Graphite Road is a very popular tourist stop.

Suggested walks
Donnelly River Village is a popular starting point for day or overnight walks both north and south (North to Balingup - a three-day walk, or south to Pemberton - a five-day walk). Another possibility is an overnight walk from Donnelly River Village to One Tree Bridge (one-way, 27.1km, two days, one night). The cafe at One Tree Bridge provides a good pick-up or drop-off point for walkers wanting to do sectional walks.
