General Comments

After completing the “Bib”, I am hooked on doing more tracks in the south west and possibly Tasmania.  I take my hat off to all those vollies and others for building and maintaining the track.

Food/Supplies Comments

We dehydrated all our own meat, vegies & fruit.  Worked out very well with food drops about every 8 days.

Favourite Section

That’s a hard one!  The most asked question and the hardest to answer.

Highlights

Standing on top of hills and taking in where you have come from and where you are going to.  The shelters were five star after a day’s walking.  Having a doze after lunch on the bank of Gardner River and the fellowship of other walkers.

Personal Reactions

Lost 13 kg, and felt good and fit by the time I finished. I forgot how busy life is back off the track.

Wildlife

Quokka at Warren, quenda at Torbay, 1 feral pig near Gardner, tiger snakes, several western grays, 1 feral cat, near Maringup.

Your Best Equipment

Walking poles, Trangia stove.

Your Worst Equipment

A pair of gaitors, I left in a bin in Walpole.

Advice for Others

Keep your pack light.  What you want and what you need can be very different.  Train with a fully loaded pack and boots prior to going on a long trek.
