General Comments

We made it - there were many times when I thought we wouldn’t - was a;ways a relief to reach the campsites.

Food/Supplies Comments

Food supplies were excellent everywhere except North Bannister Three Ways Roadhouse.

Favourite Section

Albany to Collie, before the TICKS!

Highlights

The smell of the forest on misty mornings, water droplets after the rain, walking behind a pair of emus, the dawn and dusk Kookaburra serenade, the cow in paddocks along the trail, the laughter in times of pain.

Personal Reactions

It sort of feels surreal, like a dream, I don’t really feel like I’ve just walked almost a 1000 kms, until I get up to walk.

Wildlife

Loved the little wrens, called them mouse birds because they were only the size of a mouse and hopped around the camps!!

Your Best Equipment

$10 jesus sandals. ended up walking the 200 kms in them!!

Your Worst Equipment

$260 specialist blister making hiking boots.

Advice for Others

For every down there is a corresponding up - ups and downs pass by quicker than the straights - and are more interesting. Enjoy the journey even when it gets tough!!
