Favourite Section

The tall karri forests near Pemberton.

Highlights

Smoked salmon overlooking the scarp at Waalegh campsite, cooking dinner on rocks behind William Bay while watching a magnificent sunset that lasted forever.  Swimming at every possible water hole / beach / river/ creek / dam.

Personal Reactions

Yahoo, took us 6 years - what a great adventure.  Thanks to volunteers who maintained the track in fabulous conditions

Wildlife

Kangaroos, snakes, bandicoot, emu, wild pig, red & white tailed cockatoos, pod dolphins diving through the surf in the southern ocean, schools of salmon and a bobtail.

Your Best Equipment

Balaclava for cold nights.  Zip together sleeping bags (sleep with husband).  Thermarest ties to secure mats together and walking stick.  Tiny bottles of Kahlua.

Advice for Others

Take fixomul to prevent blisters on feet and pressure points.  Whoever is in front be responsible for calling out Waugal sightings.  Go with friends - don’t push on too hard.  Take along games for relaxation.
