General Comments

The Track is generally well defined.  However there were many times, when I felt there was not enough waugals especially walking down a road or 2 wheel track.

Food/Supplies Comments

We prepared numerous meals of dehydrated meat & vegies prior to starting out.  We had them sent or delivered to specific access areas along the Track and towns.

Favourite Section

Peaceful Bay to Albany - the flowers and the scenery.

Highlights

Leaving the swamps of Woolbales and seeing the ocean at Mandalay.  Magnificent views from Rame Head shelter, the wildflowers were great and the coastal scenery unbelievable.

Personal Reactions

Having lost some 16 kg on the Track, the benefits are many the Track gives you plenty of time for reflecting on the important things in life.

Wildlife

I was surprised that we saw only approx. 200 kangaroos, 20 emus, 1 echidna, approx. 75 species of birds and at the end of the Track 14 snakes.

Your Best Equipment

Walking poles, I would have fallen numerous times without them.

Your Worst Equipment

My backpack gave me shoulder and back pain,  will need to purchase another better one before I walk again.

Advice for Others

Plan your trip carefully, prepare well in the couple of months prior to your walk.  Don’t carry anything you are not going to use every day.  Carry no more than 25% of your body weight.  Weight is the killer that stops many walkers.
