General Comments

I had 11 consecutive solitary days, (not counting the towns) when I saw no one on the Track or at the campsites. All up 32 nights on my own.

Food/Supplies Comments

Gas cannisters were sometimes hard to obtain, I sent dried food on ahead.

Favourite Section

Hard to pick but my favourite shelter was at Franklands.

Highlights

Every minute of every day on the Track was a highlight, even the hail.

Personal Reactions

Missed my family but I could do it all again tomorrow.

Wildlife

Roos, emus, bandicoot, red & black tailed cockatoos - only one snake.

Your Best Equipment

I used everything I had taken (except the 1st aid kit fortunately).  A pack liner is indispensable.

Your Worst Equipment

None, I took everything I needed and nothing I didn’t.

Advice for Others

Only carry outside your pack those items you can afford to lose. It looks “daggy”.  For comfort use a proper bush walking pack.  Travel packs are just a hands free suitcase.  Ditch the poncho - I saw 2 shredded by the wind.
