General Comments

A voyage of discovery, a true epic, the experience of a lifetime, a wonderful adventure, a golden thread linking infinite precious jewels, a meeting place for new & special friends, a healing & sustaining entity - the Bibbulmun Track.

Food/Supplies Comments

I was grateful for the opportunities all along the BT to mail parcels which people (reliably) hold for walkers. Being vegetarian I prefer to provide my own food.

Favourite Section

Schafer - Mandalay Beach.

Highlights

Too many to mention.

Personal Reactions

Surprising at the quality of Track, signage, public support & interest, Bibb Foundation’s marvellous support & interest & encouragement. DEC maps very good for about 95% of the time. ( a minor glitches). I was overwhelmingly impressed….

Wildlife

Birds were great. Animals either nocturnal or still asleep.

Your Best Equipment

Polar plus pants & short, thick woollen socks for instant warmth at the end of the day.

Your Worst Equipment

Stupid sun hat which turned only to be NOT ‘oily dry’. (Found an oily-dry Japara hat at menswear in Denmark at 1/2 price of mine. It was marvellous.

Advice for Others

Minimise the weight you are carrying. Make as many items as possible serve more that 1 purpose. Purchase & use a pack cover, a big plastic liner & waterproof sleeping bag cover. We had it unseasonably wet & I regretted sending my over-pants back home. Carry a spare plastic liner, it has many uses.l Mine finally sever as a skirt to keep shorts & bum dry in the driving rain.!
