General Comments

Track conditions and markers were very good.  Could not have done it without the shelters and the water tanks.  Have to congratulate all concerned on keeping the shelters, toilets, etc. in such good clean condition.

Food/Supplies Comments

Nothing for the track at Nth Bannister.  Lived on packets Continental pasta, noodles, Cup-o-Soup, porridge, dry peas and potatoes. Must mention Donnelly River - for its size had it all.

Favourite Section

Peaceful Bay to Denmark.

Highlights

Have wanted to do it for a long time so just decided to do it and finish was the best.  Other walkers, first view of the sea, crossing Irwin Inlet, hearing the Wind Farm from the Hidden Valley hut.

Personal Reactions

Much harder on the body than I thought it would be.  Not as many walkers as I thought there would be.  Spent more nights on my own, a little daunting at first.

Wildlife

Not as much as I had hoped to see.  Best was a tiger snake just after he had eaten, with dinner still moving around in his tummy!

Your Best Equipment

Good sleeping bag.

Your Worst Equipment

Wool socks (good for walking but took too long to dry).

Advice for Others

Keep pack weight down as much as possible.  Treat all hot spots before they become blisters, stay at least a day at Donnelly River Village.
