General Comments

A fantastically aligned, managed and maintained Track. The shelters were welcomed everyday! Awesome! I first came up with the idea of doing this when I was ten years old (1989), so after waiting 17 years it really is a dream come true. I have achieved my goal and I’m on cloud nine!!

Food/Supplies Comments

Two food drops in first stint to Dwellingup, then I resupplied in towns. (Should have taken more chocolate though.)

Favourite Section

Woolbales to Long Point, Long Point to Mt Clare, Rame Head to Peaceful Bay. Any with the Karris and Tingles and old growth Jarrah!

Highlights

Seeing lots of snakes, the fresh air and peace and quiet; virgin Jarrah, all the sections with massive Karris and Tingles; seeing Southern Ocean for first time on day 43; the camping and cooking side of it.

Personal Reactions

Full range of emotions - from loneliness to euphoria. Tears of joy and tears of despair, but an overwhelming sense of achievement.

Wildlife

Roos, wallabies, 38 snakes, quokkas, quendas, skinks, dolphins, an echidna, amazing birdlife including gorgeous blue wrens, frogs. Nearly pee-ed on a tiger snake!!

Your Best Equipment

All of it was great - thanks to Mike from MD - but mainly my Rammite Merono walking top. It hardly smelt!!

Your Worst Equipment

Nothing really.

Advice for Others

Take a mozzie net - I only had one for the first few nights and I wished I had it for the whole Track.
Put plenty of effort into planning and preparation - its worth it. My was was stress-free because of this.
