General Comments
Just good comments. Beautiful, well maintained Track, great shelters.
Food/Supplies Comments
Stopped in every town along the way. I didn’t have anybody to do food drops for me so there’s a couple times where I had to carry supplies for over a week. Lots of weight. I wasn’t carrying a stove so I ate: Muesli, dried fruits, nuts, crackers, cheese, tinned fish, biscuits, muesli bars, bread, peanut butter, etc.

Gregory Brook to DRV and Woolbales to Long Point.
Highlights
Seeing the first Karri trees and getting up that last dune with the first view over the ocean, huge Marri tree I saw falling at Boarding House.
Personal Reactions
The most peaceful month and a half I ever spent. Its great to forget about all the obligations of modern life and just get in touch with nature and your inner-self. I feel like I could have walked another 1000 kms.
Wildlife
I was amazed at the diversity of birdlife. Loved when the little fantails come and fly really close to you to eat the flies buzzing around your head. Saw lots of snakes too, specially in the last 3 weeks. Kangaroos and emus and a few nocturnal marsupials. I don’t know what they were, I think one is a quenda. I almost got attacked by a wild pig. It was growling and snarling at me and did a few bluff charges. Scary!!
Your Best Equipment
My backpack, a big 90 litres North Face, I never used to its full capacity but its very comfortable, great padding and weight distribution.
Your Worst Equipment
My boots. My good pair I had for 3 years got too worn down on the sole and starting hurting my Achilles tendon. So I walked about 700 km with a pair of Blundstones, good boots but really not meant for long distances.
Advice for Others
Go for it!! You don’t need to be super-fit or anything. Don’t feel like you have to rush, just go at your own pace. And most important: ENJOY!!!
