General Comments
I found it hard on my legs, back, body and I lost 6kg in weight.
Food/Supplies Comments
Keep your pack weight down by arranging as many food drops as you can. I found 5 days was my limit.
Favourite Section
The coastal views down south, the tingle forest.
Highlights
Meeting other walkers and experiencing their personality & excitement. Having a CALM officer lighting a fire for us.
Personal Reactions
Extreme fatigue through the sand hills at the southern end. But exhilarating as I developed a the skills to master them.
Wildlife
Small birds, lizards, emus, kangaroos, cockatoos, rabbits & snakes.
Your Best Equipment
Down sleeping bag & thermal underwear.
Your Worst Equipment
Badly fitting boots.
Advice for Others
Resist the urge to “Double Hut” down south and enjoy the walk at your own pace. Fixomul is a must in the first aid kit. Warmth through clothing & bedding each night. Dry clothing for campsites is a must.
