General Comments

Superb Track - some sections maintained better than others but then hiking is about plusses & minuses!!

Food/Supplies Comments

Carried our own - approx 10 days supply (drop offs).

Favourite Section

Through the Pingerup Plains - probably because I expected it to be flat and boring - but instead was quite fascinating.

Highlights

The peace and quiet, being attacked by an emu! (Got the heart pumping). All the lovely snakes (more reliable that people!)

Personal Reactions

Marvellous adventure, much more satisfying & delightful than I anticipated. All sections are easily achievable.

Wildlife

Most memorable - emus, splendid fairy wrens, snakes, quokkas, quendas.

Your Best Equipment

Karrimor rucksack - comfortable, durable & reasonably priced. Small LP gas stove - much lighter than Trangia.

Advice for Others

Plan each state well, weigh all equipment & food to see what you really don’t need. Comfortable footwear (my feet were not an issue after one week), use a staff of some sort, saved many a turned ankles & stumbles & can be used in defence (emus, snakes). Take GPS if possible - ideal for recording location of injured person for rescuers to locate. Finally, don’t complain about anything! If you want things to be to your expectations - stay at home!
